Joe Johnson is a partner with our firm with broad experience in complex commercial disputes, including international shipping and commodities trading matters, and a focus on arbitration and litigation. He has extensive experience in federal court and New York State court and has handled various arbitration proceedings.
Joe’s experience includes matters involving alleged fraud in the shipping of commodities, alleged market manipulation in the trading of commodities, and the defense of threatened penalties and sanctions under various regulatory regimes.
Joe is a 1994 graduate of Albany Law School of Union University (cum laude), where he was a member of its law review. He graduated from the University of Rochester in 1991. He began his legal career as a clerk to the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court, Third Department. Thereafter, Joe became an appellate practitioner, perfecting and arguing more than forty appeals over a five year period. Since that time, comprised of over twenty years of experience as a commercial litigator, he has handled a broad range of complex legal matters, including various international disputes.
