Aiden Lerch ist Associate in unserer Kanzlei mit besonderer Spezialisierung va in den Bereichen der internationalen Streitbeilegung und des Seerechts.
Aiden ist als Anwalt beim Obersten Gerichtshof von New South Wales, Australien, zugelassen. Er berät Mandanten in unternehmerischen Streitigkeiten vor Gerichten und Schiedsgerichten nach den LMAA-Regeln.
Er schloss 2018 sein Studium der Rechtswissenschaften an der University of Wollongong mit einem Bachelor of Laws (Honours 1st Class) ab und erhielt die University Medal in Law als Studienjahrgangsbester. Nach seinem Abschluss arbeitete Aiden als Associate to a Judge am New South Wales District Court. Aiden hat zahlreiche Publikationen in seinem Fachgebiet verfasst und erhielt 2021 den Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) an der renommierten University of Oxford als William Asbrey BCL Scholar. Aiden wird demnächst als Clarendon-Stipendiat ein Doktoratsstudium der Rechtswissenschaften an der University of Oxford beginnen und gleichzeitig als Associate in für Zeiler Floyd Zadkovich tätig sein.

Assertively pursued security actions against possible assets and successfully obtained an attachment over assets belonging to an alter-ego in a US targeting a vessel in the Southern District of Texas. In a reported decision, successfully defeated post-discovery motion to vacate seizure order and dismiss action. Global litigation included proceedings in UK and East Asia.
Representation of major soft commodity trading company in English High Court proceedings, alleging false representation and deceit against a Russian commodity trader. Matter also involved worldwide freezing orders, underlying GAFTA arbitration proceedings in London, English enforcement proceedings and Russian enforcement proceedings; obtained a full judgment and London arbitral award.
Representing a global trading service in a successful strike out/summary judgment application and security for costs application in the High Court of England & Wales, after allegations were made of breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and commission of the tort of conspiracy to injure by unlawful means.

We are excited to share our full journal article published by the prestigious and highly acclaimed Tulane Maritime Law Journal [44 TUL. MAR. L.J. 251 (2020)], co-authored by Aiden Lerch, Luke Zadkovich and Edward Floyd.
BIMCO rounded off 2019 by releasing an overhaul of the BIMCO Sanctions Clause. Owners previously held the right to ignore charterers’ orders based on owners’ “reasonable judgment”. That right is removed. This will be of some comfort to charterers, who will be pleased to see the back of a subjective test in owners’ favour.
