Romina Santos Reyftmann Joins ZFZ to Spearhead New Pro Bono Team

We are delighted to announce Dr Romina Santos Reyftmann has joined ZFZ to spearhead the firm’s new Pro Bono team.

Romina has a unique diverse background. As a child she emigrated from the Philippines to Australia, and later pursued advanced medical studies in at the University of Sydney. While working on her PhD in Medicine, she worked on a clinical trial that led to the world’s first baby being born using a novel technique that led to an University of Oxford publication.

Romina re-trained as a Human Rights Lawyer, graduating from the University of Wollongong’s Graduate Law Program in 2018 and has worked with the Aboriginal Legal Service, Redfern Legal Centre, and The National Justice Project.

Having been trained by two Magistrates, Romina has been able to use the intersection of her skills in science, medicine, and the law, for criminal and civil cases, which will serve as a wide basis for pro bono work to come.

The University of Wollongong Outlook magazine published today, in perfect timing, a wonderful profile about Romina, which we invite you to read here.

We are thrilled to have you on board with us, Romina!
