OFAC Clarifies Exceptions for INEA in Venezuela | ZFZ Postcard Cases
INEA was listed as an SDN by OFAC on January 19, 2021.
In General License No. 30A, issued yesterday, OFAC clarified that the express authorization for transactions or activities which are “ordinarily incident and necessary to operations or use of ports and airports” in Venezuela do still apply to those involving INEA.
This is welcome news for parties involved, given INEA’s integral involvement in port operations throughout Venezuela. As INEA is still listed as an SDN, it is important to ensure any activities involving INEA fall within this express authorization and are not otherwise restricted on another basis.
